Human Whole Blood
Our Human Whole Blood and Blood Cell derivatives from BioChemed Services are collected from healthy donors in FDA-licensed collection centers located in the United States. They undergo rigorous, consented questionnaires to determine their health status and suitability to donate. Any donor that does not meet the minimum requirement to donate blood are deferred. All donors also undergo viral testing at the time of the collection.
We offer all the different blood types-A, B, O, and AB. Each product will also be accompanied by a customizable Product Data Sheet that will include all the relevant product, donor demographic, and viral testing information.
The same protocols use for individual collections are used for collecting our pooled lots of human whole blood. In order to prevent hemolysis of the blood when combining different lots of blood together, we only pool donors having the same blood type. This dramatically helps reduce any hemolysis (and therefore prolonging the overall shelf life) that could result from red cell antibody reactions. No pooling occurs until all viral results for each donor is confirmed as negative for any of the FDA-mandated testing, such as HIV, HBsAg, HCV, etc.

Packed red blood dells and other blood derivatives
In addition to whole blood, BioChemed Services can provide has the capability to provide packed red blood cells (PRBC’s), buffy coats, platelets, etc. according to your specifications.
